Again a standard function of most modern PBX systems is the Music On Hold feature. The OfficeIPLink™ PBX is no exception, but again it extends this in capability.

It requires no external dedicate box or CD player/radio. It utilises standard .WAV or .MP3 files as the Music On Hold (just about everyone knows what mp3 files are now with number of MP3 players around). These files are easily uploaded to the system, and become available as your Music On Hold.

It extends this further by being able to select which music to play on what incoming line, what extension, what Call Queue. You may choose to play a more soothing music on the Accounts Call Queue, and possibly a more uplifting one on the Sales Queue.

As these are normally WAV or MP3 files, it means that you are not limited to music either. You can organise for your advertising to be played instead. Many of the companies that supply professional recordings for phone systems, can supply in WAV or MP3 formats. As these can be delivered by Email (as opposed to a CD format, or specialised chip), they are quick and in many cases lower cost. There is far more competition now, as more professional recording houses have realised that they can utilise the downtime of their normal music studio to produce these recordings, and the WAV and MP3 formats are easy for them to produce.
